BREAST IMAGING
Gland composed of fatty connective tissue and mammary tissue that contains the glands that produce breast milk.
EMBROLOGY
It develops from the fourth to sixth week of gestation through the ectodermak tissue along the milk line that extends from the armpit to the groin.
Between six and 10 weeks the line disappears except for the portion located in the fourth intercostal space.
During the 20th week, the milk ducts and areola also develop.
ANATOMY
It is composed of glandular tissue (secretory), fibrous tissue (Cooper's ligaments), fatty tissue, blood vessels, lymphatics and nerves.

It is made up of numerous lobules made up of groups of secretory proportions or adenomers together with the intralobular excretory ducts and connective tissue
Alveolar gland composed of 10-20 lobes separated by dense and fatty interlobular tissue
- In women, the mammary glands in the breasts are accessory structures for reproduction.
- In man they are rudimentary and have no function; They consist of only a few small ducts or epithelial cords.
